Release of SCM 2.01 (Secure Connection Manager)
Mitec Group announces the release of SCM 2.01, a unique One-Point-Login solution for secure Access Management. SCM is a centralised gateway for all remote service access and prevents unauthorised users from logging on to mission critical equipment.
Remote Access - a potential Security Hazard
Logging into external and customer placed equipment generates potential security problems as users are exposed to sensitive login details. Sensitive information in wrong hands may lead to severe breakdowns and subsequent high restoration costs.
With SCM, the user logs onto the centralised SCM using his user ID and one-time password. Following a successful login, the technician is presented with the predefined remote sites he is permitted to access.
The user can logon to the remote equipment simply by clicking the site ID and SCM automatically initiates the connection to the remote site. All sensitive login data such as IP addresses, phone numbers and passwords is concealed.
Unique Solution
SCM represents a unique solution for service providers who need to access diverse customer placed equipment. This equipment often consists of both dial-up and various IP based infrastructure and normally requires several platforms to connect through. With SCM, technicians can now access any equipment using one single access gateway, the SCM 2.01.
SCM offers MAP (Management Application Proxy), which integrates different application managers needed to access remote equipment.
If a login procedure is required after connecting to the remote node, SCM will complete the login to the remote node. Information about how to retrieve information from the database as well as information about login procedures is user configurable in SCM.
SCM keeps a complete audit trail of all user activity from the first keystroke.
